So who am I, exactly?
Really, I’m just a small town girl from central New Hampshire who wanted more out of life that what I was raised to expect. Both of my parents are entrepreneurs – my mom owns an insurance agency and my dad owns a transportation company – but both of them insisted that I go to college, get a degree, and get a “good job”. So that’s what I did. At first.
I graduated Summa Cum Laude from Northeastern University (for those of you who care lol) with a degree in Public Communications. I guess I’m a smart cookie! Over the years I was in college, I sold knives (really, I did), I sold cell phones, I worked for Disney World, I worked at The Boston Globe, I even managed a tuxedo store, and I traveled as much as I could. I had a taste for freedom – but had NO idea how to get it!
So after college I got a job at an insurance company. No, nothing to do with my degree – I fall into that 90% of college graduates category. Insurance paid more than the jobs in my field – and working 80 hours a week for $30k a year did NOT sound appealing to me. Insurance was also in my family, so I knew the business and didn’t have to learn much. So I entered “Corporate America”, thinking that it would lead me to the freedom I wanted. Yes, I admit, I was a little naive.
As you can imagine, I hated my job. I was (I’m sure you’ve heard the term) comfortably miserable! I used to joke – they pay you just enough to stay but not enough to let you live. That’s no way to go through life!
Then I found Network Marketing. Since I’ve really always been passionate about freedom and helping people, this industry looked amazing. I had never seen anything like it! I joined the company I’m with now, and started to see some real success. At the same time I switched to a different insurance company, and found out I was expecting my first baby! So now I really had some incentive to get out of my less-than-ideal situation.
I began looking into Internet Marketing with my business partner and partner in life, Eric Henderson. We began learning and implementing all different strategies, from organic marketing (SEO), Pay Per Click, and Social Media to Content Marketing. What we found was, hey, we were pretty good at this! And because we’re both passionate about helping people, we decided to start teaching and coaching others who wanted to learn how to implement it into their business. Today, both our Network Marketing and Internet Marketing businesses are thriving, and we couldn’t be happier.
